The iconic Coca Cola Christmas truck will have a run for it’s money this year as North East based transport company, Hawthorns Logistics, will be travelling up and down the country in two specially branded lorries helping to raise awareness of Dragonfly Cancer Trust.
Also based in the North East, Dragonfly Cancer Trust supports young cancer patients under the age of 25 across the UK. The charity provide invaluable support for young patients with very limited time, helping families to make each moment matter.
Based in Washington, Hawthorns Logistics is a family run business with over 30 years of experience in transport, priding themselves on the opportunities they have provided for people in the area. Managing Director, Chris Kilsby said:
“We were overwhelmed by the amazing work that the charity carries out and felt compelled to become involved, helping any way we could. With being a nationwide haulier, we were able to advertise the charity on numerous trailers, increasing awareness for the trust and showing how they help people.”

The newly branded lorries display a photograph of a young patient called Liam who the charity supported during the midst of the pandemic in 2020. Alongside Liam’s photograph and the charity logo, the lorry also showcases a huge QR code that will take members of the public to the charity website to learn more about the important services they provide for young patients and their families across the country.
“One of our main objectives at the Trust is to reach as many young palliative cancer patients as possible” explained Jane Dennison, CEO at Dragonfly Cancer Trust.
“We are incredibly grateful for the support shown by Hawthorns Logistics in helping to deliver our message and raise much needed awareness of our work with young cancer patients and the many ways people can show their support.”
Hawthorns Logistics have also commissioned limited edition collectors model trucks, which are available to buy from the Dragonfly Cancer Trust’s website, with all funds being donated to the charity.
