Washington Community Comes Together for Easter Charity Drive

The team at Specsavers in Washington has continued its generous spirit by collecting Easter eggs for a local charity.

The store, based in The Galleries Shopping Centre, gathered the treats to donate to the Washington Community Food Project, supporting families in the area.

The locally-owned and run business received 23 Easter eggs and a host of other sweet treats from generous staff and customers alike.

The charity drive follows on from the team’s Christmas collection for the Washington Community Food project, in which they gathered trolleys full of toys, books and treats for those in need.

Ophthalmic director, Eman Assi, says:

‘We have been overwhelmed by the response from both colleagues and customers.

‘The amount of donations we’ve had speaks volumes for the community of Washington and we are so grateful to be able to serve them and give back locally.

‘We hope to continue this tradition for many years to come as we play our small part in helping Washington Community Food Project in the invaluable work they do locally to provide food and essential items to those most in need.’
