Sunderland Hair Salon Named Best Hair Salon of the Year

A Sunderland hair salon has beaten strong competition from across the country to be named Best Hair Salon of the Year.

Satchi Salons, based at Everlast Gym on Timber Beach Road, received the prestigious honour at the UK Hair & Beauty Awards, held recently in Manchester.

The awards -widely regarded as the top industry honours – turn a spotlight on salons which are at the top of their game, with Satchi also placed highly in a number of other categories.

Junior Bobby Parks took third place in the Best Trainee category, with Satchi Salons named fourth in the Best Colour Salon category and seventh for Best Business Branding.

Satchi Junior Team took 11th and 13th place respectively for Best Salon Team and Best Nes Salon, with Chloe Carney taking 10th place in the Trainee of the Year category.

Owner Scott Atchison, who set up the salon 29 years ago, is both delighted and surprised by the result.

To get national first place for Best Hair Salon of the Year is such an honour and testament to the work of all of our team,” he said.

“We have spent a great deal of time and effort bringing together the best people who have such a strong work ethic and want to do the very best for our loyal clients.

“To have that commitment and passion recognised on a national stage is absolutely incredible.

Scott is also committed to supporting the news generation of hairdressers and the results achieved by his junior team is something he’s also extremely proud of.

It makes it even more special, seeing our younger team members receiving national recognition too,” he said.

“Investing in young people and giving them opportunities has become a huge part of what Satchi stands for. Seeing Bobby, Chloe and our junior team recognised nationally makes me every bit as proud as winning the main salon award.

Although Scott has a long history in the industry, he continues to explore new opportunities.

He has recently launched his own brand of hair care products for professionals and clients who visit the salon.
