Stagecoach Sunderland is celebrating the career of long-serving colleague Kevin Moses, who has retired after three decades of dedicated service to passengers across the city.
Kevin, 66, from Washington, joined Stagecoach in 1996 as a bus driver before progressing to the role of Inspector. Six years ago, he returned to driving, where he continued to serve customers across Sunderland with the same commitment and professionalism that defined his career. Throughout his 30 years at the North Bridge Street depot, Kevin became a familiar and valued figure among both passengers and colleagues.
Known for his reliability, warmth and good humour, Kevin built a reputation as a valued colleague and a steady presence on the roads of Sunderland. His long career also included time spent covering wider operational areas in his Inspector role, while always remaining rooted in his home depot.
Alongside his work in public transport, Kevin previously served as a Special Constable, reflecting his wider commitment to supporting the local community. He is also well known among colleagues for his sense of humour, including the memorable occasion he wore a Darth Vader helmet, received as a Christmas gift, while booking drivers on for duty during his time as an Inspector.
Paying tribute to Kevin’s retirement, Operations Manager David Wakefield said:
“I recruited Kevin when he first started and I recall his interview. He had a few different jobs before he commenced with Stagecoach. He is such a likeable character and gets on well with everyone. A very dependable and loyal employee who always has a smile whilst at work.”
Outside of work, Kevin enjoys travelling and going on cruises, making the most of his retirement after three decades of dedicated service.
Stagecoach Sunderland thanked Kevin for his exceptional contribution and extended best wishes for a long and happy retirement.
