Glenn Sanderson, headteacher at St Aidan’s Catholic Academy, part of Bishop Chadwick Catholic Education Trust, said:
“We are delighted with the results our boys have achieved; despite the issues caused by the pandemic we are celebrating our best results ever: 68% of our boys have achieved a grade 5 or above in both English and Maths, and 84% at grade 4.
“This level of excellence doesn’t happen by accident; the boys and staff have worked extremely hard, living and breathing our core values, dedicating time to their studies and climbing to the top of their mountain – most importantly the grades they have achieved have opened many doors, enabling them to continue their journey either academically or to pursue a good career.
“We are also pleased to report that 34% of all grades achieved were 9-7 (A*-A), 93% of our pupils achieved a grade 4 and above in English, and 87% a grade 5, some achieving a grade 9 in all subjects studied – a truly outstanding achievement and well deserved.”
