TEDCO Business Support has promoted Judith Wheatley to the role of Contracts and Performance Manager.

Having worked at TEDCO as a business advisor for 20 years, Judith brings vast experience in the enterprise and business support sector to her new role.

In her new role, Judith will be coordinating a strategic and integrated approach to business support. Working with a range of clients – from unemployed to serial entrepreneurs across the pre-start, start-up and scale-up phases of business, Judith will work to help the business support agency further enhance its service delivery across the North East in areas such as Northumberland, Newcastle, North Tyneside, South Tyneside and County Durham.

She says,

“I’ve been proud to work at TEDCO in my previous role for over 20 years. It’s always been a fantastic place to work and I’m excited to take on the challenge of this new role.

“As Contracts and Performance Manager, my responsibility lies in continually improving the client experience and ensuring that our experienced team are supported to deliver the most effective and impactful programmes to business professionals across the region.”

TEDCO’s track record with the likes of the Start Up Loans scheme, Durham Ambitious Business Start-ups and contracts with Newcastle University, has made the organisation a respected and trusted name in the North East. Delivering a range of in-person and digital workshops and events, alongside one-to-one support, TEDCO has helped thousands of people to start, grow and achieve sustainable success.

However, Judith is quick to note that the organisation can’t afford to stand still. She says,

“We know that, in order to be successful, organisations now need to be able to navigate the opportunities and challenges presented by new technologies and ways of working. But we also know that the human touch and personal support remain essential in giving people the confidence to establish and build their own enterprises. That’s why we are committed to providing a holistic and well-rounded service.”

TEDCO Chief Executive, James Craft, says,

“Judith is an integral member of the TEDCO team and I’m thrilled to appoint her to this new position as Contracts and Performance Manager. It’s never been more important for the business support sector to work strategically and move with the times as the needs of aspiring entrepreneurs, early-stage businesses and growing enterprises change. Judith is perfectly placed to help drive our progress over the coming years.”

In tandem with her new role, Judith has also enrolled on Sunderland University’s Senior Leader Apprenticeship MBA course for those in strategic management roles. Judith says,

“I’m looking forward to continuing my professional development and building on my skill set over the course of the 22-month programme at Sunderland University. And I’m grateful to TEDCO for supporting me through this qualification.”
