Sunderland creative agency Kenfolk has played a key role in the recent unveiling of the refurbished Fulwell War Memorial by designing a new logo to honour those who gave their lives in service.
Located just off Chichester Road, the memorial now features striking new steel artwork of two large poppies, crafted by sculptor Colin Wilbourn as a lasting tribute to the fallen.
The original memorial, installed in 1930, honours the 106 Fulwell men who fought and lost their lives in World War One.
The logo, created by Kenfolk in 2022 to help raise awareness and boost fundraising efforts for Friends of Fulwell War, is a geometric representation of the shape of the footprint of the monument, subtly structured to represent a poppy – ensuring the tribute is integrated into the site’s history.
