Sunderland Spooktacular – Barnes Park
📅 Friday 31 October 2025
📍 Barnes Park, Sunderland (SR4 7PE)
Halloween and fireworks? A perfect match! The Sunderland Spooktacular brings two incredible displays to one of the city’s favourite parks.
✨ Spellbound (6:00 PM): low-noise and magical – ideal for little ones.
🔥 Afterglow (8:00 PM): bigger effects, louder bursts and plenty of flames.
Gates open at 4:00 PM with funfair rides, a fancy-dress competition, and live entertainment throughout the evening. The displays are delivered by the award-winning Reaction Fireworks team.

Ashbrooke Fireworks

📍 Ashbrooke Sports Club, West Lawn, Sunderland SR2 7HH
One of Sunderland’s most popular events, the Ashbrooke Fireworks are back for Bonfire Night, proudly organised by the Red Sky Foundation.
Expect an evening packed with funfair rides, street food, live DJs, and a huge fireworks finale at 8:00 PM.

🌊 Seaham Fireworks Display

Get ready for an “audio-visual spectacular” at the Seaham Fireworks Display.
This year’s theme, Huntrix vs Mars, promises something out of this world!
Enjoy a food village, children’s rides, and fireworks launching over the sea at 6:30 PM.

South Shields Free Fireworks

The coast comes alive with the South Shields Fireworks, presented by South Tyneside Council and Ocean Beach Pleasure Park.
There are two free shows this year:
🎵 Anthems in the Sky at 6 PM
🎆 Fireworks Euphoria at 8 PM
With rides and arcades open all day, it’s the perfect way to round off a weekend at the seaside.

Sunderland Live Arena – Houghton

Two nights of fireworks, bonfires and family fun make the Fireworks and Bonfire Spectacular a great pick for families across Wearside.

Festival of Fireworks – Chester-le-Street

Back and brighter than ever, the Festival of Fireworks is one of the region’s biggest community events.
Expect a lively mix of funfair rides, street food, and live performers before the main display at 7:30 PM.
